Women-Owned, Washington-Based Organizations Unite to Support California Schools After LA Fires

It all begins with an idea.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Feb 2025 Seattle, WA – In the wake of the devastating Los Angeles fires, two Washington-based organizations, Generation Wellness and the Well Mind Project, are stepping up to support California educators and students heal and recover.

Starting in March 2025, Generation Wellness will deliver free trauma-informed training and coaching to equip school staff with the tools needed to help their communities.

The fires have displaced families, destroyed classrooms and left educators struggling to address widespread trauma. “Schools are the heart of every community,” said Lyndsay Morris, founder of Generation Wellness.“Educators need practical strategies to help students and staff regulate emotions, navigate loss, and continue forward.”

This isn’t the first time Generation Wellness has responded during a crisis. During the COVID-19 pandemic, the organization partnered with agencies nationwide to provide online training for over 200,000 staff, offering resources to support mental health during unprecedented challenges.

Recognizing the urgent need for mental health support in California, the Well Mind Project is partnering with Generation Wellness to ensure these trainings are available at no cost to school administrators, teachers, and staff. Funded by private and corporate sponsorships, this initiative provides an opportunity for community healing.

“Mental health is the foundation of recovery,” said Liz Galloway, founder of the Well Mind Project. “By empowering educators, we’re not just rebuilding classrooms—we’re rebuilding lives and futures. That is a purpose I can get behind.”

The free training sessions will begin in March 2025 at venues provided by the LA County Office of Education.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
